M83: Oblivion Soundtrack and Trilogy

M83’s Anthony Gonzalez has been hoping to get into the film industry for quite some time. So it doesn’t really come as a surprise that he has finally composed the original music for the upcoming Tom Cruise film Oblivion.

What is surprising is the kind of film he is composing music for. There has been a lot of mixed reviews about the new soundtrack but I think it is pretty clear that the producers of the film knew what they were signing up for and therefore must have known what style of music they would be getting.

I am looking forward to seeing the film now, solely because of Gonzalez. Let’s face it, I sure as hell don’t want to see it to watch crazy Tom Cruise for 2 hours.

Listen to a sample song below and also watch an interview by the Creators Project about his awesome trilogy of music videos he produced last year in 2012.
